What to do if you don't want your ticket for an MCR Dinner or other MCR event
Sometimes MCR members find themselves with more tickets than they want for a particular event. The following policy applies for giving up tickets which have been booked:
- Tickets can be booked using the online system on the website after the MCR Committee opens online booking
- There is a deadline listed on each dinner's signup page
- Tickets can be easily cancelled using the online system up until the advertised deadline
- Any tickets which remain booked after the deadline remain the financial responsibility of the member whose name the tickets are booked under, unless agreed by the relevant MCR social secretary
- People often offer tickets on the MCR social list. However, this completely defeats the purpose of a waiting list - it is not fair to those who are on the waiting list
- If you want to unbook a ticket, please e-mail the relevant social secretary, rather than advertising the ticket to the social list
- Please do not try to transfer your ticket to a friend or sell it to the general MCR public until the waiting list have been contacted by the social secretary and you have been given permission to do so
- If the ticket cannot be re-allocated, the person whose name the ticket is booked under is liable for the cost of the ticket
