Being in the basement means light is very limited. Being next to the kitchen and a bathroom means it can be a bit noisy at times, but you do have the floor for yourself. Very limited storage.

It's a good size and cosy but right on Emmanuel Rd, which is a bus route, although they stop overnight so during the night they don't disturb, although I wouldn't want to work in my room during the day. It is also above the kitchen so sometimes you can smell the food, and a little dark, but with the right lighting it is very confortable and convenient for college.

House has a lovely kitchen downstairs, two showers for seven people, no washing machine but College is very close. Room has a fridge, two small-ish closets, shelves and a dresser. The tree outside the window is lovely in the fall (and probably will be later in the spring -- haven't seen it yet!)

This is a large, nicely decorated room overlooking Christ's pieces with some separation between a sitting area and a bedroom. The house is near college, the city centre and Grafton centre. Disadvs of the room are noise from buses and distance from kitchen.

Very good room, biggest in the house. It goes to the road, and there are exceptionately many bin lorries and other lorries that can be noisy in the morning, but otherwise fairly quiet. Wardrobe is a bit too small for girls, but the rest of the furnature is very good. Very close to one of the bathrooms, so lack of sink is no issue. The house has two bathrooms each with showers, one also with a toilett, and two separate toiletts. It has two kitchens, one quite small and thin one on the top (second) floor with hobs and oven, and one big one with a nice table in the basement, but it doesn't have hobs, just a combi-oven and a microwave. There is also a small garden with grass and place to put bikes, and the back door opens directly onto the Free Press.

One of the smallest rooms in the house but lots of cupboard space and it looks out over the large garden. High ceilings and two windows but not a bay unlike lots of the rooms in this house. It's the only room the other side of the main kitchen and you have to walk back through the kitchen to get to the bathroom, though this is less of a nuisance as there is a sink. Close to the laundry though and it even has it's own front door!

Quite big for a grade 3, tucked away at the top of the house. Not facing towards the road so less noise, nice view of the garden. Only 1 window so not much light, but this has never been a problem. Bathroom/kitchen both on floor below, although there is a toilet on this floor (the sink is really tiny though, so most of the water ends up all over the floor!)

As with most rooms in 287 Hills Road, this is a very nice room. It is very spacious. Shares a bathroom / shower with 3 other rooms - there are numerous bathrooms / showers in 287 Hills Road, so there will never be any problems waiting to use these. Room is a good size, with good shelving space but limited wardrobe space. During the day, you can here English lessons from the house next door, and there is sometimes a little noise out the back. There is no traffic noise. There are 2 kitchens in the house, but no real communal area and only 1 shower between 7. As yet there is no washing machine (one is promised). Overall a good room and handy for Mill Road shops, station and swimming pool.

Very large room with high ceilings and a big desk situated in the middle of the house, overlooking the road. Big bright windows, but this means it can be a bit noisy as Tenison Rd is main route for taxis to drive to the station, but I got used to it quite quickly. Nice and warm in winter, plenty of breeze in summer. One gripe with the house is very old carpets, and kitchen and bathroom in need of updating. Only one shower for whole house, but we don't seem to have problems with sharing it. Overall a good room.

Some noise in daytime from language school. (House) Room 6 shares a small kitchen with room 7, with no cooker, just a hob. No freezer or washing machine in house. 1 shower between 7 people.

In terms of location, the house is brilliant, Mill road is aweesome & you're not too far away to stagger home from college after dinners. This room is very spacious & was newly redecorated last year (2009)-though for some reason college decided to put the old curtains back up which are fairly scabby. Tenison road can be a bit noisy (its a rat-run between Mill road & the station). The house is a bit dilapidated, but has a lot of potential. The nearest laundry facilities are at Glisson Road which is a pain. Best news, the upstairs kitchen now has a freezer!

A nice house in a quiet location. The room is much quieter the previous college room I've stayed in. Despite looking out onto the road there is little traffic that goes by so it's quite calm in that respect. The kitchen is a good size - plenty of shelf space for everyone - and has the added bonus of having a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a small common room upstairs. The room is a good size and has a cozy feel.

I agree with the previous occupant that said that the house does not have proper communal space. This room is always quite cold, perhaps because it faces the back. People who briefly stayed in Room 2, which also faces the back, said that it was cold as well. Also, there is only one shower in the house, so if you have someone who spends the night regularly, it would inconvenience the other roommates. This is not a good house for a noisy person or someone who would want to throw lots of parties as it would also inconvenience the other roommates. The walls are paper thin, so you can hear when someone is moving around the house, when music is being played and you can even sometimes hear muffled conversations from the house next door. This is something to think about if you work from home and need a quiet environment. Also, the dryer is in the kitchen, so sometimes one's laundry can wind up smelling like food, or, if there is a smoker in the house, like cigarette smoke. This house would also not be good for a smoker, as the courtyard is small and right next to the kitchen and secondhand cigarette smoke easily seeps into the kitchen, leaving a smell that hangs around for hours or for even days.

This is a nice room in a newly refurbished, clean house. There is a well-equipped kitchen with plenty of cupboard space but no table or chairs. This gives the house a rather antisocial touch even if there is a common room with four arm chairs and, again, no table on the first floor. Nice bathrooms and washing machine / dryer.

This means a constant flow of buses and taxis from early morning onwards (but the double glazing is quite effective). Generally, a nice room. But very noisy, due to traffic lights directly outside the window. Park Lodge as a whole is (and has been) vulnerable to intruders; this room is particularly vulnerable in that it is on the ground floor and easily accessible from the outside. After three break-ins in the last year, college as kindly installed some extra outside lighting. Last point, radiator (even after college maintenance attended to it!) doesn't work.

This is a reasonably small room but perfectly adequate with a desk, chest of drawers, wardrobe, bed, bedside table, two chairs and mini fridge. It is on a floor with three other people who share a bathroom and a large kitchen. The room is at the front of the house so there is noise from traffic.

This is a great room. It is the largest room in the house and shares a bathroom with 3 other rooms on the floor. There is a large walk in closet with hanging space and shelves. Two large windows look out on Parker's Piece, and the only downside is there is some noise from bus traffic down Parkside. Plenty of room for a bed, two desks, dresser, sofa, two chairs, and a mini fridge etc. Kitchen is a bit small for all the people in the house and the whole house could do with some upgrading and a frsh coat of paint, but by and large a very good room.

Right on Milton Road, quite a lot of noise. Thin curtains that let the streetlights through at night. Small, but complete bathroom. Small room but complete and comfortable with en suite bathroom.

Large room, with window looking out to the large back garden. Comfortably houses a large desk, two seater sofa, bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and ample shelving. As with all rooms in house has en-suite bathroom but this one has a a bath. Only downside is a little noise caused by doors banging outside door.

Room is large. There is mould around the window and the room looks out onto a busy road, it is very noisy due to heavy traffic. It is en suite and the shower is hot and powerful but there is no hot water in the mornings.

The room is long and narrow, and has a bathroom with a shower. The wallpaper is flowery, but it's not too bad. There can be slight problems with damp, especially when the bed is right up against the wall. This is probably because the extractor fan in the bathroom doesn't work. Central heating and regular airing of the room seems to prevent this. The road is noisy, lots of lorries and buses, and the curtains are a bit thin given that the sun rises directly opposite the window! But on the whole it's a nice room.

Not a huge room but works well. Good sized fitted wardrobe with shelves. Chest of drawers, desk, bed, chair and bookshelf all fit in. Sink in room with ensuite. Shower is v good. Toilet does not always flush properly (college won't do anything about this as is 'functioning ok'). Overlook house on side but see white wall which reflects light in nicely and are not dierctly opposite one of their windows. Wallpaper is very pink but no garish pattern on it (a bonus for Suffolk House rooms)

The showers is Suffolk House tend to be bad. I have one of the better ones, it is electric so not much water pressure but sometimes it goes very hot and then very cold and you have to get out of the shower half way though. This problem has been reported to college but they seem very slow to act in Suffolk House. Other than that, the room has a lovely view of the garden and has a big radiator so stays warm. It is large and comfortable.
