MCR dinners: planning and organization


Below you will find for your reading pleasure, information regarding the planning of MCR Dinners by the Committee. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to e-mail the MCR Committee. Enjoy!

  • Events will be advertised at the same time that the sign-up is opened, no less than a week before the dinner.
  • Sign-up will be opened at least a week before the event. For Monday dinners, sign-up will be closed at noon on Thursday. For Tuesday dinners, it will be closed at noon on Friday.
  • For normal dinners, there will generally be no more than two colleges invited with a maximum of 20 places allocated to MCR Guests. For special dinners (e.g. Christmas, Burns Night etc), there will be more spaces available for the Emmanuel MCR.
  • For special dinners, MCR members will be allowed to invite up to two guests. For normal dinners, three guests will be permitted. If it looks like an event is likely to sell out, the numbers of permitted guests may be reviewed to enable as many MCR members to attend as possible. The sign-up will be checked regularly to see if the number of guests should be reduced for a particular event.
  • When there is going to be a table plan for a dinner, an email will be sent out informing the MCR and asking members to e-mail the Social Secretaries who they want to sit with by the time the sign-up closes.
